Abstract This survey is aimed at verifying the use of intervention activities of selected interventions of NIC classifications (Nursing Intervention Classification) in the prevention of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia. The Intervention Content Validity test (ICV test) was used to assess the applicability of intervention activities of selected interventions of NIC classification. The group of experts, 36 general nurses from clinical practice of the monitored area in intensive care, assessed the intervention activities of selected NIC interventions from class K Airway Management. For each evaluated item, the weighted score (ws) was calculated. Intervention activities with the weighted score (ws) ≤0.8 were considered to be characteristic (main, priority) to fulfil the intervention of NIC classification. Intervention activities with the weighted score (ws) 0.75–0.5 were considered to be less characteristic and were classified as additional to fulfil the intervention of NIC classification. Intervention activities with the weighted score (ws) Based on the stated criteria of the demonstrable preventive measures, intervention activities of NIC classification interventions were assessed, in particular, 3120 Airway Insertion and Stabilization; 3180 Artificial Ventilation Management; 3140 Airway Management and 3160 Airway Suctioning. In this study, intervention activities were detected, showing the applicability of the current measures to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia in the Czech Republic.

Aim: Th e evaluation using of cardiopulmonary class NOC outcomes of classifi catory system in the relation to 00031 NANDA-I. Ineff ective Airways Clearence diagnosis. With a view to testing use classifi catory systems NNN by nurses in the real clinical workplaces of intensive care. Methods: Nurses evaluated using the outcomes array of NOC cardiopulmonary class of the classifi catory system (4th edition, 2008) which they would really use in their clinical workplaces in the relation to fi xed nursing diagnosis 00031 NANDA Int.-Ineff ective Airways Clearence (NANDA-I, 2009–2011, translation Kudlová, p. 360). Th ey evaluted with help of Likert type scale into recording list. For NOC outcome evalution comparison by nurses from individual clinical workplaces Pearsen chi-square test for independency was used aft er the basic statistical processing (arithmetic mean, median, standard tolerance. Results: Research did not prove statistically signifi cant diff erences of nurses (n65)evalution at outcomes 0412; 0415; 0416; of NOC cardiopulmonary class of the classifi catory system. Conclusion: Th e research enquiry brought partial results to IGA MZČR NF 12078-4/2011 project which supports implementation of NIC classifi catory system in surgical and anaesthetic nursing care into the conditions of clinical practice of the Czech Republic.
