Logic or the Art of Thinking

The first edition in English was published in 1685 at London and printed by T. B. for H. Sawbridge. The second and third English editions were printed by T. B. for John Taylor in 1693 and 1696 respectively. The following is taken from the third edition which differs but slightly from the second. The translation into English is credited to several hands. Here the spelling has been modernized. The work itself is divided into four parts. These are: (1) Consisting of Reflections upon Idea, or upon the first Operation of the Mind, which is called Apprehension, &c. (2) Of Considerations of Men about Proper Judgments, &c. (3) Of the Nature and various kinds of Reasoning, &c. (4) Treats of the most profitable Method for Demonstrating or Illustrating any Truth.
