Zusammenfassung Addition of n,π* -excited thiocarbonyl compounds 1 to ketene acetals 2 leads to thietanes 3 and/or 4 . The results are discussed in terms of a mechanism involving intermediate 1,4-diradicals.

Carbonyl-ylide als zwischenstufen der photoreaktion aromatischer ketone mit halogenketenacetalen

Zusammenfassung Photoreactions of benzophenones 1 with haloketene acetals 2 yield oxetanes 3 and tetrahydrofuran carboxylic esters 5 as major products. A mechanism with the intermediate formation of 1,4-diradicals and carbonyl ylides is discussed.
