DAMAGES TO INJECTORS IN DIESEL ENGINES

Piotr Ignaciuk; Leszek Gil

The article describes damages to high pressure injectors used in common rail injection systems. The conducted analysis of their causes includes the diagnosis of injectors on a test bench and the results of microscopic research of damaged components. The tribological damages of high pressure injectors are local and cavitations pitting. The place of cavitations pitting are mainly check valves, where the reduction in the quantity of injected fuel is forming.

IMPACT OF ACID NUMBER OF FUELS ON THE WEAR PROCESS OF APPARATUS FOR FUEL INJECTION IN DIESEL ENGINES

Leszek Gil; Daniel Pieniak; Mariusz Walczak; Piotr Ignaciuk; Józef Sawa

Fuels used for diesel engines besides their main function of energy supply act as a lubricant. In this context the most important task is lubrication of precision pairs injection equipment. In this paper lubricating properties of rapeseed oil esters and camelina esters have been compared. Dependency of the electrical resistance and friction coefficient of the lubrication surface using different types of fuel was analyzed. It was stated, that the highest electrical resistance occurs when lubrication is done with diesel fuel, whereas the friction coefficient is the lowest and it occurs at lubrication with camellia esters.

Abstract The maritime transport is particularly exposed to danger due to the environment of its operations. These are the threat dependent and independent of human e.g. environmental, safety health and life of humans or belongings. In spite of attempts to limit the risk of danger, it is impossible to completely eliminate it. The article presents some aspects of the state of transportation safety in the Baltic Sea from Statistical Yearbook of Maritime Economy and Helcom as well as attempt the undertaken to analyses the security state of this sea area in 2009 to 2015.

Molybdenum Sheet Local Resistance Heating Test Device

Michal Mitka; Ronald Bastovansky; Frantisek Brumercik; Piotr Ignaciuk

Large demand for bulk of sapphire optical products, which are widely used as illuminators, optical windows in aviation and aeronautics etc., generates the inquiry of effective production of high quality industrial crystals. The technology of crystal growth with the horizontal single crystal sapphire crystallization method is based on putting the crystal seed into the front of the crucible resistant to temperatures up to 2150°C. Without encompassment of the production technology of this special container made from thin molybdenum sheet is not realistic to consider the productive exploitation of horizontal crystallization systems in engineering practice. This paper presents the analysis of the possibility of the local resistance of molybdenum sheet heating by its deep drawing to obtain better drawing properties by increased blank temperature.

Analysys of reliability and cost of repairs of trucks under long-term lease conditions / Analiza niezawodności i kosztów napraw samochodów ciężarowych w warunkach wynajmu długoterminowego

Artur Dmowski; Piotr Ignaciuk; Marcin Ślęzak; Andrzej Niewczas

Abstract The article presents the results of the reliability tests of three makes of trucks. They used samples of 30 vehicles of each make. The vehicles were used by transport companies on a rental basis. The analysis omitted defects of the body-work of the vehicles as the component unrelated to a particular make. The first part of the analysis characterized operating process in respect to mileages and operating time. Then the analysis of the reliability of vehicles and their components was conducted taking into account the mileages till the first recorded defect and separately inter-repair periods’ mileages. The analyses presented are part of a larger work, which aims to develop a method for evaluating the operational quality of trucks from the point of view of the owner of the rental vehicles.

Effectivness Of The Failure Rate On Maintenance Costs Of The City Buses

Piotr Ignaciuk; Joanna Rymarz; Andrzej Niewczas

Abstract The purpose of this paper was to present a failure rate and maintenance cost comparison for two types of city transport buses. The paper presents in detail a case study of well known bus brands used at Municipal Transport Company in Lublin. A failure index of all functional and constructional systems of the vehicles and their technical availability with regards to calendar time was determined. The paper also presents analysis of the factors related to maintenance costs of buses, including costs of fluids, repair costs and maintenance service. It has been demonstrated, that both analyzed buses generate similar maintenance costs, while their failures and technical availability differ significantly in operational practice. These differences are particularly evident in relation to the cumulative costs of repairs.
