Com vistas a contribuir para o desenvolvimento de metodos mais eficientes e menos agressivos ao ambiente que aqueles disponiveis para o controle de Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz, causador da mancha manteigosa em cafeeiros, buscou-se identificar especies vegetais produtoras de substâncias ativas contra o referido patogeno. Para tanto, prepararam-se extratos de 48 especies vegetais, coletadas na regiao do Alto Rio Grande, em Minas Gerais, para serem submetidos a testes in vitro com o mencionado fungo. Constatou-se que os melhores resultados foram obtidos com os extratos oriundos de Digitalis lanata Ehrh, Origanum manjorona L., Plantago lanceolata Hook. e Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) Bertoni que inibiram a germinacao dos esporos de C. gloeosporioides. Alguns dos extratos ativos tambem foram submetidos a diluicoes em solucao aquosa de Tween 80 a 1%, o que permitiu observar que, na proporcao de 1:2 ou 1:3 (extrato: solucao aquosa), os extratos perdiam a atividade antifungica. Verificou-se tambem que alguns dos extratos ativos nao alteraram suas atividades quando submetidos ao processo de liofilizacao. Desse modo, identificaram-se varias plantas promissoras na pesquisa por novas substâncias bioativas para o controle de C. gloeosporioides, com destaque para O. manjorona L., que inibiu 96% da germinacao dos esporos do referido fungo.

Milk is a highly nutritious food, andso becomes an excellent medium for development of various pathogens. The goal of this study was to evaluate some parameters of physico-chemical and enzymatic quality of raw milk from a dairy plant in Campos Gerais, Minas Gerais State. Samples of fresh milk were collected from the cooling tank of the dairy plant. We analyzed a 200ml-sample of fresh milk with 4 repetitions for 13 consecutive days, for evaluations ofalizarol, acidity, crioscopy, reductase activity and testing of antibiotics. The results obtained for the physico-chemical and enzymatic analyses showed that the samples of fresh milk met the minimum requirements set by the ministry of agriculture (BRAZIL, 2011). It was concluded that the activity developed by the dairy plant can be considered efficient, once the administration is concerned about training and empowering producers and workers, thereby avoiding problems that could affect production.

ABSTRACT: This study evaluated some physico-chemical and microbiological parameters of water quality of the Water Park Vale dos Ipês in Campos Gerais, Minas Gerais State. Four water samples were taken at different sites during 3 consecutive weeks in October 2012. Four replicates of each collected sample were used for evaluations of pH, turbidity and color and two replicates for microbiological analysis. Water quality was assessed based on that established by the Ordinance 518/2004 of the Ministry of Health. Water samples collected at the water park showed values of pH, turbidity and color within the standards, but also high levels of coliforms at 35 o C and thermotolerant thus not meeting the standards previously established by CONAMA. It is concluded that the analyzed water samples are not suitable for direct contact and for human food, nor suggested for irrigation of plants and vegetables. The analysis of the degree of contamination of the water park can be complemented with the development of research projects that can assess more specific parameters of contamination from industrial, agricultural and domestic effluents over a longer period of time.
