Longitudinal splitting of the nails can occur as a result of any growth arising in the nail matrix. We present a case of a 50‐year‐old woman who presented with an 18‐month history of longitudinal splitting of the nail on her right little finger, along with pain in the proximal nail fold region, which was extremely tender to touch. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed an intensely enhancing lesion, while colour Doppler imaging revealed hypervascularity within the mass. A provisional diagnosis of glomus tumour was considered. Histopathology demonstrated presence of a well‐circumscribed tumour comprising a dual population of cells, which stained negatively with periodic‐acid–Schiff. The histopathological features were consistent with those of eccrine spiradenoma (ES). In this case, glomus tumour was considered as the first differential diagnosis, but histopathology confirmed it as an ES.

Cysticercosis, a parasitic tissue infection caused by the larva of Taenia solium, is quite a common disease in our part of the world, but its incidence is often underestimated. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) plays an important role in early detection of this disease, especially when the lesion is located in anatomically approachable superficial locations.[1,2] A definite diagnosis of cysticercosis was obtained in the form of parts of parasite tegument, hooklets, parenchymatous portion, and calcareous corpuscles.

Cavernous hemangiomas of the uterus are extremely rare, benign lesions. A survey of the literature identified fewer than 50 cases of hemangioma of the uterus. Although they can be found at all levels of the uterine wall, including the serosa, myometrium and endometrium, most cases usually involve the myometrium diffusely. These lesions are associated with numerous obstetric and gynecological complications, ranging from inter-menstrual spotting, meno-metrorrhagia and infertility to maternal and fetal demise from pronounced bleeding of the gravid uterus [1-4]. We present a rare case of a cavernous hemangioma in a 42 years non-pregnant woman with a history of heavy menstrual bleeding refractory to medical management.
