According to the requirements of hydraulic transmission to two-way cartridge valve, and from the practical point of view a water hydraulic two-way cartridge valve was designed. Then its structure characteristics was introduced and the mathematical model was established. The simulation analysis of the water hydraulic two-way cartridge valve has been carried out through Matlab/Simulink proving that its structure was reasonable and it had good performances.

In order to solve the severe wear problem of the core in water hydraulic high-speed on/off valve, according to the requirements of high-speed on/off valve components in water hydraulic transmission and from the practical standpoint, the core manufactured with ceramic materials could bring its advantages of high strength, big hardness, good wearability, non-affection with corrosion into play.By the wear-resisting experiment the wear case of Si3N4 ceramic core has been studied with weight-loss method by electronic analysis balanc.The results show that the core manufactured with Si3N4 has high abrasion resistance and low wear rate, and the structure design of water hydraulic high-speed on/off valve with ceramic core is reasonable and the performance is good.

A magnetorheological digital flow control valve is designed using magnetorheological fluid (MRF) magnetorheological characteristics. The paper gives the magnetorheological digital flow control valve’s structure and mathematical model, and according to the working condition, proposes using the pulse width modulation (PWM) control mode which is one of the digital valve control modes to realize the flow control. Simulation analysis has been done and the results show that the magnetorheological digital flow control valve has good static performance, high frequency switching speed and response,easy to realize intelligent control.

The operating principle of cartridge valve controlled by high-speed on/off valve is expounded, the mathematical models are established on the basis of the principle. The simulation model of system is created in AMEsim. By analyzing the curve charts of spool’s displacement and outlet flow rate of cartridge valve, the PWM signal frequency and duty cycle have influences on the control performance of cartridge valve controlled by high-speed on/off valve are concluded. The results show that the cartridge valve can be got good linear control when the input signal is low- frequency and moderate duty cycle.

Combining with the rheological characteristics of MRF and the traditional structure of pilot operated relief valve, the key technical problems existing in this type of valve when using MRF instead of mineral oil were analysed. To solve its key technical problems, A novel pilot operated relief valve for MRF system has been designed. Adopting MRF valve for using the pilot valve, designing reasonably the relative position and the size of the working gap in the MRF valve, and optimizing design the structure of the main valve of the pilot operated relief valve for MRF system, can effectively improve the damping force of the MRF valve and reduce the erosion and noise of the pilot operated relief valve for MRF system.
