The reaction of tellurium(IV)chloride with N-trimethylsilyl-P-triphenyliminophosphorane in a molar ratio of 1:2 gives (Ph3Pue5fbN)2TeCl2. A similar procedure with RTeCl3 (R = p-MeOC6H4) gives the monosubstituted product Ph3Pue5fbNTe(R)Cl2. X-Ray diffraction studies show that both compounds contain short Teue5f8N bonds, with lengths of ca. 192 pm. Additional telluriumue5f8nitrogen compounds have been obtained from reactions of RTeCl3 with Me2S(ue5fbO)ue5fbNSiMe3, (Me3SiNue5fb)2S, and Me3SiN(Me)C(ue5fbO)(m-CF3C6H4)SiMe3, which give Me2S(ue5fbO)ue5fbNTe(R)Cl2, Me3SiNue5fbSue5fbNTe(R)Cl2, and MeNC(ue5fbO)N(m-CF3C6H4)Te(R)Cl, respectively.

Zusammenfassung Es wird uber die Darstellung des [(CF 3 ) 2 AsClNSiMe 3 ] 2 3 berichtet. 3 ist der erste viergliedrige As-N-Ring mit Arsenatomen der Koordinationszahl 5. Die Verbindung wurde anhand einer Rontgenstrukturanalyse charakterisiert.

Abstract The synthesis of (CF 3 ) 2 AsCl 2 N(SiMe 3 ) 2 is reported. This compound has been characterized on the basis of an X-ray analysis. It has a trigonal bipyramidal geometry with axial chlorine atoms. Variable temperature 1 H- and 19 F-NMR data show no observable changes. In comparison to pentacoordinated phosphorus compounds the tendency to form tetracoordinated derivatives is strongly diminished in the case of arsenic compounds.

Abstract Dimeric hexafluorothioacetone (HFTA) (1) reacts with dithio-oxamide(2) to give two isomeric products 3a and 3b. Theequilibrium of the two isomers has been studied by 1H- and 19F-nmrspectroscopy. The structure of 3a has been determined by X-raycrystallography.
