Electrophoretic investigation of the serum proteins of certain birds and their hybrids.

Abstract 1. 1. Electrophoretic comparisons of the serums from certain gallinaceous birds and their hybrids have been obtained. 2. 2. The diagrams and subsequent mobility calculations in the case of the hybrid of the chicken and the ring-necked pheasant showed two closely related, fast-moving peaks which were related to components in the pattern of the parent birds. 3. 3. Other components present in the hybrid serums were electrophoretically identical with components found in one or both hybrids. 4. 4. Greater differences were shown in the case of the hybrid of the chicken and the ring-necked pheasant than in the case of pheasant hybrids.
