Optical Polarisation Studies of Star Formation Regions

S. M. Scarrott; T. M. Gledhill; R. F. Warren-Smith

Linear optical polarisation maps are presented for nebulae associated with recently formed stars. The data suggest that in many cases there appears to be a circumstaller gas/dust disk that not only collimates any outflows but also contains a toroidal field which ultimately links up with the field in the surrounding dark clouds.
