Constructing New Biorthogonal Wavelet Type which Matched for Extracting the Iris Image Features

R. Rizal Isnanto; Suhardjo; Adhi Susanto

Some former research have been made for obtaining a new type of wavelet. In case of iris recognition using orthogonal or biorthogonal wavelets, it had been obtained that Haar filter is most suitable to recognize the iris image. However, designing the new wavelet should be done to find a most matched wavelet to extract the iris image features, for which we can easily apply it for identification, recognition, or authentication purposes. In this research, a new biorthogonal wavelet was designed based on Haar filter properties and Haars orthogonality conditions. As result, it can be obtained a new biorthogonal 5/7 filter type wavelet which has a better than other types of wavelets, including Haar, to extract the iris image features based on its mean-squared error (MSE) and Euclidean distance parameters.

Human recognition system can be done based on the characteristics of palmprint. The palmprint identification system is the palmprint matching process tested with the entire palmprints have been registered on the database. The result is to recognize one individual palmprint. This system consists of software completed with a webcam as input to generate input images. In the system, feature extraction uses detection of the principal-line features and then the image is divided into blocks and form a feature vector of palmprint. The process of feature extraction starts with the palmprint lines acquisition which plays an important role towards the success of recognition. The system developed was tested using 90 palmprint images from 30 individual persons with three samples of palmprint were acquired from one person. Two of three palmprint samples were used as test images, while the rest is used as the reference image. From the test results using Euclidean Distance as its similarity measure, it can be concluded that the recognition system based on principal lines feature of palmprint is well-performed with the successful recognition of the palms tested reaches 100%, both for testing using palm images which have been trained as well as for testing using outer images. While, for recognition using neural network, the results are: The test results show that the performance of palmprint recognizing system with 3 positions of test images provides success rate 88.88 %. The test with straight vertical position provides success rate 90 %. The test with 90° angle to the right position provides success rate 93.33 %. The test with 90° angle to the left position provides success rate 90 %.

MySQL is the most trusted and depended-on open source database platform in use today. Many of the most popular and highly-trafficked websites in the world are built on MySQL because of its ubiquity across heterogeneous platforms and application stacks and for its well-known performance, reliability and ease of use. Research, publications and community service is one activity that is managed by the Institute for Research and Community Service. The process of managing these activities today cannot be separated from the Internet, therefore we need a system that can manage every activity. To obtain the proper management it needs a system that is supported by the database system is also good. This paper discusses how to conduct the process of optimizing the database system so that when the data is accessed does not affect the performance of server systems. Process optimization is done on the design of the database system. Database design plays an important role in determining system performance. Process optimization is done in this study by using one of the functions that have been given in MySQL by using VIEW. This virtual table process to be performed by the system to be faster. This is because during the system requests to the server is does not need to query over and over because it has been done in the database management system.

R. G. Alam Nusantara Putra Herlambang; R. Rizal Isnanto; Ajulian Z. Ajub

Iridology is the study of iris structure as a reflection of the organ condition and system in the humans body. In this study, the organ which is detected is liver. To determine the condition of the liver through iris, texture analysis and classification process are needed to distinguish iris of eye that contains the condition of normal and abnormal liver. The purpose of this study is to detect the condition of the liver through iris using back-propagation neural network with the Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) for feature extraction. Application to detect liver conditions was made using Matlab version 8.1.0.604 (R2013a). Inputs for this study which is used is the eye image with both normal and abnormal conditions of the liver, based on Bernard Jensens iridology chart. The image is then carried out with iris localization process, ROI-making organ of the liver, and GLCM feature extraction. Results of feature extraction is used as input data (training data and test data) for the back-propagation neural network method, then used to diagnose liver organ conditions. On the obtained test results, a number of hidden layer units showed a growing number of units in the hidden layer that makes Mean Square Error (MSE) value will decrease. It makes network performance is getting better. Based on the test results, 35 test data with four variations of the number of units in the hidden layer, namely, the variation of the number of hidden layer units [ 40 ( layer 1 ), 20 ( layer 2 ) ], [ 50 ( layer 1 ), 20 ( layer 2 ) ], [ 70 ( layer 1 ), 30 ( layer 2 ) ], and [ 80 ( layer 1 ), 30 ( layer 2 ) ]. Sequentially, the data show the success rate percentage of 77.14 %, 80 %, 88.57 %, and 91.42 % . Thus in this test, the best success percentage is 91.42 % .

Iris recognition analysis using biorthogonal wavelets tranform for feature extraction

R. Rizal Isnanto

Human iris has a very unique pattern which is possible to be used as a biometric recognition. To identify texture in an image, texture analysis method can be used. One of method is wavelet that extract the image feature based on energy. Wavelet transforms used are biothogonal types, i.e. Haar and Daubechies. In this research, iris recognition based on Haar and Daubechies was done and then comparison analysis was conducted for which some conclusions taken. Some steps have to be done in the research. First, the iris image is segmented from eye image then enhanced with histogram equalization. The method used for extracting features are Haar and Daubechies (i.e. db5) wavelets transform. The features obtained is energy value. The next step is recognition using normalized Euclidean distance. Comparison analysis is done based on recognition rate percentage with two samples stored in database for reference images. As the result, the highest recognition rate is achieved using Haar with decomposition level 3 i.e. 84.375%, for which the highest recognition rate of db5 is 68.75% with decomposition level 2. The lowest recognition is achieved when db5 used with decomposition level 1, i.e. 38.231%, whereas the lowest recognition rate using Haar is 68.75% with decomposition level 1.

Eko Handoyo; R. Rizal Isnanto; Anung Prastyo Pribadi

The needs for better and faster medical service has force us to create a system that able to serve it. Nowadays, there are many medical records applications have been developed to serve the needs, but most of them still handle the needs in common management of a hospital or medical institution, whereas the subsystems are also needed to be handled even more detail. Having these needs, we need to develop a system that serves the necessities in parted ways to improve the quality of the service. In this paper, we develop not only a web-based, but also a mobile-based medical records system which handle the necessities in obstetrics-gynecology subsystem. A mobile-based system has been chosen, so it can be accessed from everywhere without decreasing the systems requirements. We develop a medical records system which can handle the necessities of a hospital or medical institution not only in common management, but also the needs for the subsystems which can be accessed from everywhere.
