QUANTUM-CHEMICAL INTERPRETATION OF RECYCLIZATION REACTIONS. 5.* PYRROLYLPYRIDINES

Yu. B. Vysotskii; B. P. Zemskii; T. V. Stupnikova; R. S. Sagitullin

The ability of pyrrolylpyridines to undergo rearrangements is examined on the basis of a developed scheme for the quantum-chemical description of recyclization reactions. It is shown that the cations of the α and β isomers of pyridine can undergo recyclization to derivatives of 2-azaazulenes and indoles, respectively, while the γ isomers are incapable of undergoing rearrangements. The calculated data are compared with the available experimental data.

Effect of aza substitution on the formation of anhydro bases of quinolylindoles

The reaction of quaternary salts of 3-(2-quinoxalinyl) indoles with hydroxylamine was investigated. It was established that the presence of a second pyridine nitrogen atom in the ring increases the positive π-electron charge on the nitrogen atom of the quinoxaline ring and, as a consequence of this, markedly increases the contribution of dealkylation.
