Mesin tanam biji-bijian yang efektif dan efisien terus dikembangkan di Indonesia. Mesin tanam yang terintegrasi dengan pengolahan tanah alur, pemupukan awal dan penamam merupakan salah satu cara untuk mencapai efektivitas tersebut. Sebuah mesin tanam terintegrasi akan didesain dengan menggunakan poros roda traktor sebagai sumber penggerak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis sistem transmisi pada alat tanam dan pembuka alur yang akan digunakan. Sistem transmisi yang digunakan direkomendasikan menggunakan sistem sproket-rantai. Jumlah gigi sproket dari poros roda traktor hingga ke poros benih sudah didapatkan dengan jarak tanam maksimal 20.19 cm. Penjatah pupuk menggunakan tipe edge-cell dengan luas satu celah 69.44 mm2 diikuti dengan silinder pengatur dosis pupuk. Pembuka alur tanam akan mengunakan tipe shoe dengan tinggi 10 cm, lebar 3 m dan ketebalan batang 0.78 mm. Kata kunci: Mesin terintegrasi, penanam jagung, pemupuk

Abstract It has been known that magnetic exposure of fuel prior to combustion can improve effectiveness of combustion process. However, the main reason of the phenomenon is still unclear. In this paper, characteristics of fuel as exposed to electromagnetic field was measured experimentally and inter-related appropriately in order to have preliminary insight to the clarification of the phenomenon. Fuel characteristics being investigated were viscosity, vibration of the fuel molecules, dipole moment, and refractive index. These experiments were performed using various blend compositions between fossil diesel (petrodiesel) and biodiesel fuel i.e. B0, B10, B40, B70 and B100. The electromagnetic field was generated by a galvanum tube wounded with 9,000 wire coil. The fuel characteristics of both prior and post electromagnetic exposures were then measured with time variation of 0–1,800 s. The experimental results revealed that electromagnetic exposure of the fuel increased vibrational frequency of its molecules significantly, which in turn weakened the attracting energy and caused uniform arrangement of dipole moment of the molecules. The experimental data also revealed that the fuel characteristics did not alter significantly after it was exposed to the electromagnetic field for more than 1,200 s. This information is considered to be useful for further research in order to resolutely clarify the phenomenon of efficient combustion process of fuel after exposure to magnetic field.

The Global Positioning System (GPS) has been widely used as guidance for autonomous vehicles and robots, especially in outdoor environments. For such application a high accuracy of GPS is required (e.g. using a Real-Time Kinematics Differential GPS). however, it is costly. This paper discuss about development of a laser-based localization system in outdoor setting which works based on triangulation as an alternative of positioning system as a guidance of agricultural machinery operation in a specified field operation such as fertilizer application or chemical sprayer operation. More specific this paper discuss about design and performance analysis of laser transmitter and receiver component of the proposed system. The main challenges in designing those components is that the system should be capable of dealing with influencing factors exist in outdoor environment, especially ambient light. Here, modulation technique applied to the transmitter combined with high pass filter applied to the receiver is used to address that issue. The experiment results showed that using transmitter with laser modulated at 2.7 kHz and receiver with 1.5 kHz cut-off high pass filter worked best on 50% duty cycle. The developed transmitter-receiver system was capable of reaching up to 200 m distance and worked well on a various ambient light conditions. This result suggested that the developed prototype can be used to further develop the proposed laser based localization system.
