The measurement of latent traits within the organizational field such as quality, effectiveness and learning has been conducted in several formats using a wide variety of quantitative methods, including Item Response Theory that consistently increased in organizational studies. The purpose of this article is to compare the hierarchical and non-hierarchical structures of three multidimensional models of Item Response Theory, based on the interface quality measurement in e-commerce sites. We compared the multiple unidimensional, compensatory multidimensional and bifactorial models, and also elaborated and applied 75 items in a sample of 441 e-commerce websites. As a result, we conducted a discussion of the latent construct, the quality in e-commerce and its multidimensional configuration to adjust and compare three multidimensional models.

Purpose This study aims to empirically test the dairy production barriers: 1) Lack of cooperation between the chain actors, 2) Milk quality deficiencies, 3) Rural exodus and, 4) Productivity limitations in southern Brazil, based on Santa Catarina’s dairy production ecosystem players perceptions. Design/methodology/approach From inquiry result analysis with 305 dairy sector experts, we performed statistical tests using the technique of factorial analysis and confirmatory factorial analysis to confirm and/or refute the dairy production barriers presented by Bonamigo et al. (2016b). Findings The results confirmed the presence of the barriers presented by Bonamigo et al. (2016b). The barrier Lack of cooperation between the chain actors is presented as the biggest obstacle in the sector, according to the interviewees. We also found that rural exodus is the barrier with the smallest impact on the dairy sector development in relation to other barriers presented by Bonamigo et al. (2016b). The confirmation of the...

Abstract This paper proposes an algorithm of a computerized adaptive testing based on Item Response Theory, designed to estimate the degree of usability of e-commerce sites. Five algorithms were tested by simulation. The algorithm with the best performance was applied to real data from 361 e-commerce sites. The results showed that the algorithm could obtain good estimates for the degree of usability of e-commerce sites with the application of 13 items. Keywords Computerized adaptive testing.
