Abstract Two new species of the Nearctic perlid genus Perlesta, P. durfeei Kondratieff, Zuellig, and Kirchner and P. georgiae Kondratieff, Zuellig, and Lenat are described and illustrated from Virginia and North Carolina, U.S.A., respectively.

Abstract A new species of stonefly, Alloperla lenati, is described from Hoke/Scotland Co., North Carolina. It is a member of the leonarda species group but can be distinguished from included species by the distinctively shaped epiproct. Additionally, two new North Carolina state records are reported for the perlodines Hydroperla phormidia (Columbus/Robeson Co.) and Isogenoides varians (Davie/Davidson Co.).

Abstract Two new species of Allocapnia in the recta complex are described, Allocapnia sequatchie n. sp. and A. starki n. sp. from Tennessee and Mississippi, respectively. Descriptions are supported by illustrations and scanning electron photomicrographs. Additionally, scanning electron photomicrographs of an A. recta × loshada hybrid from southwestern Virginia are presented.

ABSTRACT A new species of Tallaperla, T. maiyae, is described from Wilkes County, North Carolina, U.S.A. from two males. The new species is similar to T. maria and T. anna, but can be distinguished by the combination of a prominent spine-like epiproct and brown coloration.

Taeniopteryx robinae , sp. nov., is described from Barnwell County, S.C. It is closely related to the T. maura (Pictet) species complex and characters are given to distinguish it from the complex. Ecological details of the type locality are discussed and a key to adult males of South Carolina Taeniopteryx is also given.
