Lead acid battery with thin metal film (TMF®) technology for high power applications

The lead acid battery chemistry has been utilized to support the energy needs of cars and engines starting for the past 100 years. Conventional lead acid batteries are rather large and heavy to meet the power requirements for most applications. BOLDER Technologies Corporation has taken the electrochemical concept of the lead acid battery and made a spirally wound valve regulated lead acid battery based on its patented Thin Metal Film (TMF®) technology. This has small size but more power than any other existing battery. This paper describes the power of the TMF lead acid battery and its applications.
