Omar Abdulwahabe Mohamad; Rasha Talal Hameed; Nicolae Tapus

Smart Home Security is designed to provide better security as well as energy efficiency and comfort. The paper presents a proposed smart home security (SHS) based on PIR Motion detector and MQ 9 Gas detection sensor. These sensors are monitored remotely by employing the communication networks. But the communication may be subject to delay, data loss and transmission congestion. The major challenge for smart home security is how to determine the suitable routing protocol, that ensures the data transmitted from a node to the other node as fast as possible. The paper makes a performance comparison between the Destination Sequenced Distance Vector and Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector routing protocols which is presented in two scenarios, with different nodes, pause period and node speed by using Network Simulator-2 on Linux platform. The evaluation criteria of the protocols is tested for delay time, data delivery ratios with routing overload parameters. It is observed that DSDV offers better performance compared to AODV for SHS while DSDV has lesser routing carry and delay time compared to AODV.

Good patient care means safe record-keeping practices. Never forget that the electronic health record (EHR) represents a unique and valuable human being: it is not just a collection of data that you are guarding, it is a life. Malicious codes are one of the significant reasons for the rising number of security violations of systems associated with the web or worked in an open domain. Some security organizations, that perceive the significance of security, develop security systems, for example, firewalls, virus scanning proxy servers, and intrusion detection system. In this venture, the integration of different techniques in network security is applied for healthcare system protection. This work portrays a wavelet neural network approach to the proposed Intelligent Healthcare Security System (IHSS) which include an intelligent firewall (IFW), intelligent network intrusion detection subsystem (INIDS), and intelligent web filter (IFW). Also, it used Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) for detection and classifying the attacks depend on an on-line analysis mechanism. Various wavelet neural network structures are analyzed to discover the optimal neural network with regards to the number of hidden layers.

Rasha Talal Hameed; Saba Abdulbaqi Salman; Omar Abdulwahabe Mohamad; Nicolae Tapus

Physicians as the most important tool in the diagnosis of acute and chronic heart conditions leverage the Electrocardiogram (ECG) data. The huge volume of data that needs to be gathered; processed as well as transmitted burdens the communication channel by obstructing the implementation of the ECG applications in telemedicine and remote monitoring scenarios. This has triggered the need for computationally efficient and advanced compression methods permitting the reconstruction of the destinations original signal. This paper focuses on proposing a highly efficient compression method relying on both run length coding (RLC) and fast lifting wavelet transform (FLWT) for both 1 and 2 dimensional ECG data. The basic wavelets that had been used are Daubechies (Db4); Cohen-Daubechies-Feauveau (CDF 2.2) and Haar. The algorithm that has been proposed is deployed as well as tested on different ECH data signals that stem from an open MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. It has been seen that Db4 offers greater performance via lower error and greater compression ratio when opposed to the other wavelets stated here.
