This article addresses the importance of obtaining a sample of an adequate size for the purpose of testing hypotheses. The logic underlying the requirement for a minimum sample size for hypothesis testing is discussed, as well as the criteria for determining it. Implications for researchers working with convenient samples of a fixed size are also considered, and suggestions are given about the steps that should be taken when they are not able to obtain a large enough sample. Finally, the implications of not having an adequate sample size for hypothesis testing are discussed to highlight the importance of determining sample size prior to conducting one’s study.

This paper discusses the need to develop ELT materials for Muslim learners and the importance, when developing these materials, of addressing the cognitive and affective domains, and for the materials to be rich in moral values so that they are able to provide a means for students to think, reflect upon, and discuss issues of relevance to them, which would lead to the inculcation of positive, universal, and Islamic values. It also discusses the need to develop critical thinking among students through ‘Community of Inquiry’ pedagogy that utilizes a discourse-based approach for philosophical issues of relevance to Muslim learners.

This paper describes the results of a qualitative study that sought to discern whether entrepreneurship education has an influence on the intentions of students to be self-employed after graduation. The research used the faceto- face in-depth interview to obtain the students’ perceptions of the entrepreneurship programme and whether it affected their intention to become entrepreneurs. The findings suggest that entrepreneurship education is strongly linked to students’ entrepreneurial intention.
