Découverte D'Un Nouveau Représentant De La Famille Des Gelyellidae (Copepoda, Harpacticoida) Dans Les Eaux Souterraines De Suisse

A new species, the second known at present in the primitive family of the Gelyellidae, has been collected in Switzerland by continuous filtering a karstic spring in the Neuchâtel Jura. The morphological characteristics of this new species, Gelyella monardi, confirm the peculiar place that the Gelyellidac occupy in the Harpacticoida, and even in the Copepoda. The freshwater or marine origin of the two stygobiont species of this family is discussed, particulary in function with Miocene marine transgressions.
