Objective: to analyze the scientific evidence addressing factors associated with impacts on the quality of life of patients submitted to myocardial revascularization. Methods: integrative review, conducted in the databases Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online/Pubmed, Web of Science, Scopus, Science Direct, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences and Scientific Electronic Library Online. Results: eight studies were selected, mostly prospective cohorts, published in the years 2003 to 2013. The worsening of quality of life was determined by the instruments Medical Outcomes Short-Form-36 Health Survey - SF-36 and Item Health Survey – RAND-36, and the impact factors were age above 75, previous history of myocardial infarction or angina pectoris, and association of comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus and depression. Conclusion: factors such as extreme age and female gender were highlighted in the worsening of the quality of life of patients who had undergone myocardial revascularization.

OBJECTIVEnto elaborate and validate a protocol for the care of the nurse to the septic patient in Intensive Care Units (ICUs).nnnMETHODninstrument validation study. Two steps were followed: instrument development and content validation according to the Delphi technique.nnnRESULTSnthe validation of contents related to the nurses assistance to the septic patient in intensive care was initially composed of eighteen items analyzed by the evaluators/judges. From this, through the Content Validity Index (CVI), thirteen items with strong evidence of validation were identified, CVI = 0.79. Then the instrument was refined, being then composed of fifteen items, which in the second phase Delphi had a percentage of agreement above 84% for the variables pertinent to the protocol.nnnCONCLUSIONnthe method was effective to validate the contents of a protocol for the nurses assistance to the septic patient in the ICU.

Theoretical and reflective study based on scientific literature and critical analysis of authors related to teaching strategies through simulation for training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Current teaching methodologies CPR involve realistic simulation strategies and simulations in virtual environments, but the first method provides the best results, allowing proactivity of individuals in their teaching-learning process and bringing them the experience of a life threatening situation. It is noteworthy that health professionals need to be able to assist a victim in cardiac arrest, but even xa0existing effective teaching methodologies to enable them in this subject, is not fully applicable in the Brazilian context of health education.

Goals: Identify relevant aspects found in the literature regarding nursing actions in caring for adults with Chagas cardiomyopathy. nMethods: An integrative review was performed. The research was guided by the question: What information and actions should nurses know about when taking care of adults with Chagas cardiomyopathy? nResults: Eleven articles were identified, published in the last 10 years. This study showed that: patients with Chagas cardiomyopathy have more severe symptoms than with other etiologies of heart failure and higher prevalence of indications for artificial heart pacemakers; there is a knowledge gap among health professionals regarding this disease; and these patients face prolonged hospital stays until heart transplantation with a consequent drop in their quality of life, calling for interventions with a focus on self-management of the disease.xa0 nConclusions: The planning of nursing interventions that result in improved quality of life, symptom control, and increased adherence to pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy is essential in the care of patients with Chagas disease. nKeywords: nursing, Chagas disease, Chagas cardiomyopathy
