“As Your Heavenly Father is Perfect”: The God of the Bible and Commandments in the Gospel:

In common with much Hellenistic philosophy and Jewish tradition, early Christian writings often ground ethical teaching in the imitation of God. In the Gospels, however, what comes to the fore is “correspondence” to God, in which the divine love, mercy, and compassion provide the pattern also for human conduct. The bond of love between Creator and creature finds its most intimate expression in the relation of God as Father to God’s children, a love that they are to embody in relations toward neighbor and enemy alike.

The Old Testament reluctance to talk about God as Father is all the more remarkable as the Gottesepitheton. Marriage is elaborated, shows the consequences of father name for the Pauline understanding of God, has consequences that constitute the essential condition for the Pauline soteriology. For this purpose, the Philippians is designed in an Christological sense, which has always acclaimed text whose subversive significance for the understanding of God mW was yet hardly noticed. In it, its not just about the enthronement of Christ as Kyrios, but the hymn culminates in the price of inthronisierenden God, which is now called father. This convergence of reign of Christ and the fatherhood of God is considered in more detail. The church at Philippi is the favorite church of the Apostle. His concern for the community is reflected. dem zielgerichteten Umgang mit Texten und stehen – wie das Verstehen selbst – immer in Wechselbeziehung zu gesellschaftlich bestimmten Handlungsgemeinschaften. In einer pluralistischen Gesellschaft ist ein Methodenset einem Werkzeugkasten ähnlich, dessen vielfältige Zusammenstellung garantiert, dass unterschiedliche „Arbeiten“ mit unterschiedlichen Ansprüchen geleistet werden können. Wenn sich Methoden der Bibelexegese in der Praxis nicht bewähren – weil sie z. B. Fragen stellen, deren Relevanz (außerhalb der Universität) nicht mehr einsichtig gemacht werden kann –, dann steht zu befürchten, dass mit der eingeschränkten Brauchbarkeit der Methode zugleich auch die Interpretation der Bibel selbst in den Hintergrund gedrängt wird. Die Ausweitung des exegetischen Methodenkanons ist letztendlich ein notwendiger Ausdruck der gesellschaftlichen Diskursfähigkeit von Theologie.
