Jitka Komarkova; Martin Novak; Renata Bilkova; Ondrej Visek; Zdenek Valenta

Today, many of the solved problems are spatially oriented. It means that more and more people need to use spatial information. They need to be able to use it quickly, without any special software tool and without any special training. So they need an easy-to-use solution. GeoWeb sites can perfectly fit the demands but they must be properly designed. The article describes usability testing of GeoWeb sites of all Czech regional authorities and proposes some recommendations how user interface should be designed. Recommendations can be generalized because there are no significant differences between private and public sector. The main differences are between target groups of the users: regular or casual users.

Affect e-commerce services the use of services offered by eGovernment?

Renata Bilkova; Renáta Máchová

The design and implementation of information systems, and from the perspective of effective communication, information technologies play an important role in specifying ways of company behaviour as such. It is hard to decide what individual companies consider to be important, what their initial knowledge about the use of the Internet is, or what experience with the public administration services they have. This study is dedicated to the question of whether using e-commerce services affect the use of services offered by eGovernment. Another aim of this study is to try to identify the basic characteristics determining the relationship of companies towards electronic services B2B, B2C and B2G.

Mobile devices in learning — Are students ready for the change?

Hana Kopáčková; Renata Bilkova

Mobile devices are changing everyday lives and also change the way how people are engaging in particular activities. Teaching and learning is no exception, over the last ten years there has been an extensive research in this field, which revealed that students acceptance of mobile learning is also influenced by the experience with mobile devices. Motivation of this study was to find out if university students are ready for the introduction of elements of m-learning. Readiness for m-learning in the context of this study covered the experience and also the ownership of mobile devices, since the introduction of mobile devices in learning will be covered under BYOD (bring your own device) policy. We designed three research questions that examined technological readiness (ownership and usage of mobile devices), ability to accomplish the task with mobile device and possibility to discover typology of smartphone users.
