DESEMPENHO DE UM ESCARIFICADOR COM DOIS TIPOS DE PONTEIRAS E TRÊS ESPAÇAMENTOS ENTRE HASTES

There is a critical need to estimate the energy requirements of the implement as part of the evaluation of a cropping system. The knowledge of the power requirements of the tractor/equipment is necessary to reduce the production cost. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of a chisel, according to two types of dropouts (winged and narrow) and three spaces (180, 305 and 355 mm) of stems, depending on some attributes of a Latosol. The experimental design was Randomized blocks with 3 by 2 factorial arrangement. The study was conducted in a field trial at the State University of Campinas, Campinas, SP. It was used a chisel trawl being pulled by a tractor with tires. To the mobilized sectional area parameter, the narrow dropout showed an average less than that to winged tip, at level of 1% of probability. Considering the spacings related to the mobilized sectional area, the average to 180 mm was less than the averages to the spaces of 305 and 355 mm, at level of 1% of probability. The winged dropout showed an energetic efficiency higher than that to the narrow, because with the same number of stems, worked up a larger area of soil, using similar amount of energy.
