Walt Disney's Frontierland as an Allegorical Map of the American West

In this essay, a historical geographer and cartographic historian interprets Walt Disneys Frontierland as botha miniaturized environment and a stylized map. He speculates that Frontierland perpetuates deeply rooted, and widely shared, mainstream American attitudes toward United States expansionism from the late nineteenth century through the Cold War.
