Energy audit role in building planning

An energy audit is one way to overcome the excessive use of energy in buildings. The increasing growth of population, economy, and industry will have an impact on energy demand and the formation of greenhouse gas emissions. Indonesian National Standard (SNI) concerning the building has not been implemented optimally due to the socialization process by a government not yet been conducted. An energy audit of buildings has been carried out at offices and public services. Most electrical energy in buildings used for air refresher equipment or air conditioning. Calculation of OTTV has demonstrated the importance of performing since the beginning of the planning of a building to get energy-efficient buildings.An energy audit is one way to overcome the excessive use of energy in buildings. Experimental Study of Darrieus-Savonius Water Turbine with Deflector: Effect of Deflector on the Performance

The reverse force on the returning blade of a water turbine can be reduced by setting a deflector on the returning blade side of a rotor. The deflector configuration can also concentrate the flow which passes through the rotor so that the torque and the power of turbine can be considerably increased. The placing of Savonius in Darrieus rotor is carried out by setting the Savonius bucket in Darrieus rotor at the same axis. The combination of these rotors is also called a Darrieus-Savonius turbine. This rotor can improve torque of turbine. Experiments are conducted in an irrigation canal to find the performance characteristics of presence of deflector and Savonius rotor in Darrieus-Savonius turbine. Results conclude that the single deflector plate placed on returning blade side increases the torque and power coefficient. The presence of Savonius rotor increases the torque at a lower speed, but the power coefficient decreases. The torque and power coefficient characteristics depend on the aspect ratio of Savonius rotor.

Effect of air speed and expansion valve openings on moisture content and dry air ratio in a modified air conditioning evaporator system

Air conditioning system has four main components of compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator. The effect of air speed and expansion valve openings on moisture content and dry air ratio in a modified air conditioning system has been investigated. The transerved air stream with the aid of a blower enters the evaporator through three baffles. Air flow capacity of the blower can be altered to get the variation of air speed entering the evaporator. The result of this research shows that the expansion valve openings have a significant change on the ratio of water vapor and dry air.Air conditioning system has four main components of compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator.
