NATUREZA EM ALEXANDER VON HUMBOLDT: entre a ontologia e o empirismo

The article discusses the role of materialism and Naturphilosophie in building the concept of nature in Alexander von Humboldt. From the materialist reworking of conceptions, empiricists and inserting nature in an ontological conception, Humboldt advances and allows for a deeper analytical about the Earth’s surface and their processes, it creates a new science and is creating the modern image of a nature beyond the mechanism. The geography is the product and its res ection needs a strong metaphysical foundation, which allowed it to recreate the concept of Humboldt Earth and World.

A emergência de um novo saber geográfico: o retorno da ciência à filosofia

In the current scenario of knowledge, the separation between science and Philosophy finds its limit, searching now a new unit. Geography, in this context of knowledge, presents its failed history while modern science and, at the same time, its capacity for moving beyond the limits. Lost in its lack of investigative unit, in its schizophrenia Physical/Human, Geography deals with the nodal point of all contemporary difficulty of knowledge, in that seeks the understanding of the world unit by the relationship of man with nature. Just at this point, where all historical difficulty of geographic analysis is founded, takes form a knowledge that transcends the barrier created by the split between Philosophy and science.

CIÊNCIA E ESTÉTICA NA REFLEXÃO HUMBOLDTIANA (science and aesthetic in reflection humboldtian science)

O presente trabalho examina os fundamentos artisticos e filosoficos que influenciaram a constituicao da ciencia humboldtiana, que se constitui geneticamente na base para a organizacao do pensamento geografico moderno. A ciencia humboldtiana constituiu-se a partir de um complexo debate que ocorreu no seculo XVIII, tendo como base o pensamento sobre estetica e teleologia de Kant e que se desenvolveu a partir da naturphilosophie com Schelling, Schiller e Goethe. O produto e a geracao do conceito de espacialidade, categoria morfologica e estetica da representacao que permite a comunicacao e a geracao de conhecimento. Nesse momento, estavam erigidas as bases para a organizacao da geografia moderna, em termos de objeto e de metodo. Abstract The present work examines the artistic and philosophical foundations that influenced the humboldtian science constitution that we constituted genetically in the base of the modern geographical thought. The humboldtian science it constituted starting from a complex debate that occurred in century XVIII, having as base the thought about aesthetics and Kant’s theleologic and that was developed from the naturphilosophie with Schelling, Schiller and Goethe. The product is spaciality concept generation, morphologic category and representation aesthetics that allows the communication and the knowledge generation. At this moment, they were formed the bases for the organization of the modern geography, in terms of object and of method.
