The facilities and plans for instruction in electron microscopy in representative universities are briefly described. Recommendations are presented regarding principal instrumental and specimen techniques to be taught, laboratory equipment, student supplies, and useful publications. These recommendations evolved from an inquiry among those practicing electron microscopy in academic and industrial research laboratories.
