Publication

Featured researches published by Robert M. Kennedy.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1988

A synthesis of 19-dehydroamphoteronolide B

Robert M. Kennedy; Atsushi Abiko; Toshiro Takemasa; Hiroshi Okumoto; Satoru Masamune

Abstract The four fragments A - D previously prepared for the synthesis of amphoteronolide B have been assembled to provide the titled compound. This assembly represents a formal synthesis of amphoteronolide B.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1984

Stereochemical requirements for fragmentation of homoallylic epoxy alcohols

Robert A. Holton; Robert M. Kennedy

Abstract The fragmentation of 5,6-epoxynorbornan-2-ol and 5,6-epoxynorbornan-2-one have been studied under both acidic and basic conditions. These processes show a clear preference for syn periplanar alignment of breaking bonds.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1986

A new stereospecific annulation

Marie E. Krafft; Robert M. Kennedy; Robert A. Holton

Abstract A new, high yield, two-step annulation method has been developed which features stereospecific formation of three contiguous asymmetric centers.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1987

Stereocontrol of the metal-ammonia reduction: formation of either cis- or trans-fused decalones from a common intermediate

Robert A. Holton; Robert M. Kennedy

Abstract Octalone 2 is reduced by lithium-ammonia to the cis-fused decalone, whereas octalone 7 undergoes lithium-ammonia reduction to provide exclusively the trans-fused isomer.

Journal of Organic Chemistry | 1989

An improved synthesis of (-)-(2R,5R)-2,5-dimethylpyrrolidine

Robert P. Short; Robert M. Kennedy; Satoru Masamune

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1987

Enantioselective total synthesis of aphidicolin

Robert A. Holton; Robert M. Kennedy; Hyeong Baik Kim; Marie E. Krafft

Journal of Organic Chemistry | 1987

Mild method for the reductive desulfurization of .alpha.-phenylthio and .alpha.-phenylsulfinyl carbonyl compounds

Robert A. Holton; David J. Crouse; Andrew D. Williams; Robert M. Kennedy

Journal of Organic Chemistry | 1987

A mild method for the reductive desulfurization of α-phenylthio and α-phenylsulfinyl carbonyl compounds

Robert A. Holton; David J. Crouse; Andrew D. Williams; Robert M. Kennedy

Journal of Organic Chemistry | 1986

Formation of quaternary centers via the Michael reaction. Electronic compensation for steric congestion

Robert A. Holton; Andrew D. Williams; Robert M. Kennedy

Journal of Organic Chemistry | 1992

A short synthesis of (.+-.)-.beta.-isocomene

Nikolaos D. Willmore; Richard M. Goodman; Hyun Ho Lee; Robert M. Kennedy
