The postoperative myelogram. Radiographic evaluation of arachnoiditis and dural/arachnoidal tears.

Robert M. Quencer; Michael S. Tenner; Lewis Rothman

Either arachnoriditis or dural/arachnoidal tears may cause symptoms in the postoperative spinal patient. Surgery and myelography as causes of arachnoiditis are discussed. Intradural arachnoid cyst formation and intramedullary cavitation may present as unusual sequelae of arachnoiditis. Extra-dural cysts and cerebrospinal fluid fistulas resulting from dural/arachnoidal tears are unusual postoperative complications presenting striking myelographic features. Their mechanisms of formation, clinical significance, and radiographic features are discussed.

Percutaneous spinal cord puncture and myelocystography. Its role in the diagnosis and treatment of intramedullary neoplasms

Robert M. Quencer; Michael S. Tenner; Lewis Rothman

Three patients with cystic tumors of the cervical spinal cord were evaluated with percutaneous cord puncture and myelocystography. This procedure gives relief of symptoms and permits delineation of the extent and character of the cystic mass.

Radiology | 1972

Perforated ureter secondary to a ureteral calculus. Report of a case.

Robert M. Quencer; Stanley C. Foster

A case of perforation of a ureter associated with abscess formation at the site of an obstructing calculus is presented. Perforation of this type is rare in the absence of prior surgery or instrumentation. Demonstration of extravasation from the site of perforation in the absence of peripelvic extravasation or of pyelovascular backflow has not been previously described.

Radiology | 1977

Aneurysm of the azygos artery

Robert M. Quencer; Edward V. Cox

A saccular aneurysm of the azygos artery is reported. The relationship between (a) this aneurysm and the primitive vessel from which it arises and (b) the aneurysms which are frequently seen involving persistent carotid-basilar anastomoses is described.
