Reactivity of the alkene component in the ruthenium-catalyzed [2+2] cycloaddition between an alkene and an alkyne: Part 2☆

Robert W. Jordan; William Tam

Abstract Ruthenium-catalyzed [2+2] cycloadditions of 2,3-disubstituted norbornadienes and 2-substituted norbornadienes with an alkyne were found to be highly chemo- and stereoselective with moderate level of regioselectivities and only small rate differences were observed with different substituents on the norbornadiene.

Ethyl 7‐exo‐acetoxy‐4‐phenyltricyclo[4.2.1.02,5]non‐3‐ene‐3‐carboxylate

Robert W. Jordan; William Tam; Alan J. Lough

The regio- and stereochemistry of the title compound, C20H22O4, has been established by X-ray analysis. The bond lengths and angles are normal.
