This study was designed to test and validate the integrated intellectual capital model by examining the relationship between intellectual capital and organisational performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in the electrical and electronics manufacturing sectors in Malaysia. Data was collected through a validated survey instrument administered on a sample of 237 respondents from targeted SMEs. Cronbachs alpha and confirmatory factor analysis were used to examine the reliability and validity of the research instrument. Structural equation modelling was used to test the proposed research hypotheses. The results demonstrate that human capital, customer capital, structural capital, social capital, technological capital and spiritual capital are crucial components of intellectual capital and all link to organisational performance. Although there are limitations to measuring intellectual capital quantitatively, this study provides further insight into the relationship between intellectual capital and organisational performance within a developing nation. The limitations of the study include a limited scope of generalisability.

Abstract This paper presents a comparative study of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) between students of two universities from Malaysia and Indonesia. The study investigates the extent to which EI and EO test scores vary among the students. EI showed different scores between students of the two universities. The importance of EI also differs between two universities. EI and EO collectively have an impact on Entrepreneurial Inclination of Indonesian students, but only EO was significant for Malaysian students. Recommendation is provided for future research.

Intellectual capital of the organization would determine the success of the organization itself if it is well capitalized. Knowledge sharing is a platform for the organization to further enhance productivity. Furthermore, knowledge sharing is always linked to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) due to their advantage of being small. Convenience sampling was used for manufacturing and services industries of SMEs. Data was tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to investigate the impact of intellectual capital on knowledge sharing. Measurement model and structural model were developed. Findings show that relational capital has a positive impact on knowledge sharing while human capital and structural capital has negative impact on knowledge sharing. All the intellectual capital dimensions contributed a significant impact on knowledge sharing. It is important for SMEs to invest and focus on knowledge sharing activity as it would create a platform for innovation, thus enhances the performance.

This study aims to examine the influence of entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial learning towards the entrepreneurial intention. In addition, entrepreneurial self-efficacy is included as a mediating effect on this relationship. Promoting entrepreneurship among students has been an important agenda for universities to reduce unemployment among graduates. Entrepreneurship education has been introduced as a compulsory syllabus and various entrepreneurship activities have been carried out. The data was collected through a survey of students of BBA Entrepreneurship. The results of the data analysis using Partial Least Square demonstrate that there is no significant and positive influence of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention. However, entrepreneurial learning has both direct and indirect relationship to entrepreneurial intention through entrepreneurial self-efficacy towards students’ entrepreneurial intention. It is suggested that entrepreneurship education should be delivered through entrepreneurial learning. Besides, universities should also focus in enhancing entrepreneurial self-efficacy among students in order to encourage them to be an entrepreneur. The implication of these findings for entrepreneurship research and learning are discussed.

Entrepreneurial environment is very challenging and competitive; thus, failing rate of business venture is high around the world. How do entrepreneurs manage and control their emotions and still be able to be innovative in the competitive entrepreneurial environment? Emotional intelligence relates to the ability to identify and express emotion and emotional adjustments and use emotions as self-motivation and a means to motivate others (Goleman 1995). Entrepreneurs’ ability to be successful is dependent on their resilience and ability to be innovative. The role of emotional intelligence in activating entrepreneurs’ innovativeness is yet to be explored in the entrepreneurial research. This conceptual paper would be highlighting the entrepreneurs’ innovativeness from the perspectives of emotional intelligence in achieving entrepreneurial success.
