Globalidad sin equidad: notas sobre la experiencia latinoamericana

Both the adjustment and changes sought in the Latin American productive structure have led to profound changes in economic dynamics, as well as to a serie of sectoral and regional dislocations that have produced a deficient social outlook, reflected in mass impoverishment and excessive concentrations of income and wealth. However, placing in perspective Latin American attempts to redefine its patterns of development in the context of internationalization opened up by the current phase of globalization does not prevent us from designing the productive and rational surmounting of current restrictions. In this respect, rethinking the role of the modern, democratic national State involves revising spending and financing patterns as well as the terms of reference of industrial development as central, obligatory tasks in overcoming poverty and creating societies in wich equity prevails.

Más allá de la crisis: al rescate del desarrollo

To propose to do a deep reflection on the development so much as human project, as social construction, where it is considered to the politics, the culture, and to the actions and decisions of the power of the State and to be able like that to advance in the challenge of overcoming the conditions of poverty and inequality. It indicates new ways of being inserted in the globalization, by means of one configurations of the State and of his capacities of intervention, regulation and economic parsonage. He warns that it is needed to change approaches and ways of acting from the company on the economy and against the conventional speech that claims his recognition as the only thought. It raises that opposite to the frantic global changes it is needed to do a strategic rethinking of the State to re-invigorate his to gesticulate and this way to favor the change towards the economic development with democratic and with social equity

El desarrollo ayer y hoy: idea y utopía

El autor hace una reflexion en torno a las ocupaciones y preocupaciones de Raul Prebischy de quienes dieron sentido historico y actual al pensamiento latinoamericano.Tiene como eje el desarrollo, donde se resalta la evolucion politica del continente entorno a su idea, teoria y practica. Muestra como la vision cepalina conserva un caractercontemporaneo. Pero advierte que urge cimentar una vision que se propongaexplicitamente la construccion de estrategias inscritas en propositos de renovacioncultural, redistribucion social, ampliacion democratica y cuidado estricto y creativodel entorno. Da un lugar destacado a la Economia Politica del Desarrollo para quejunto con la Politica reconfiguren el significado del interes general, alineados por objetivosde libertad, justicia y democracia. Asimismo senala que la conjuncion de lademocracia y la economia con la globalizacion no ha sido, ni sera, un viaje sencillo;pero hay que reasumir el cambio social, pues nos dice que cuando se da prioridad ala efectiva mejora de las condiciones de vida de la mayoria de la poblacion, el crecimientose convierte en desarrollo. Pero este cambio no es espontaneo: Es fruto de laexpresion de una voluntad politica.
