Erster nachweis eines cyclopropenylcarbinyl-kations

Abstract Cyclopropenylcarbinyl cations normally cannot be detected directly. They undergo rapid ring expansion to the corresponding homocyclopropenylium salts. Contrary to this behavior ketone 10 forms a stable cyclopropenylcarbinyl cation 11 on treatment with magic acid.
