POLLINATOR FORAGING STRATEGY IN Galactia peduncularis (BENTH.) TAUB. (LEGUMINOSAE: PAPILIONOIDEA) IN THE PARQUE ESTADUAL DA SERRA DE CALDAS NOVAS BRAZIL The way the animals look for food is an important characteristic of their behavior. The optimal foraging theory is based on the existence of a balance between costs and benefits of these behavioral decisions. The present study aimed to evaluate the behavior of the pollinator in response to increased availability of floral resources. The experiment was conducted in a recently burned Cerrado area (Campo rupestre) in the State Park of Serra de Caldas Novas , located in the municipalities of Caldas Novas and Rio Quente Brazil. The species chosen to test our hypothesis was Galactia peduncularis (Benth.) Taub. (Leguminosae: Papilionoidea). 17 pairs of specimens were selected with a number of flowers, and the individuals of each pair were spaced by about 2m. In these pairs, one of them was considered the focal, and the other, the isolated. To test possible differences in pollination between isolated plants and focus, we performed two randomization tests: a test binary (TB), where all pairs were analyzed and verified the number of times where the focus on the individual floral visits were higher than the number of visits in isolated. According to the data analyzed, floral visitors preferred to use plants that could provide a greater amount of floral resources so that the number of visitors varied positively with the increment of flowers. Plants with many flowers can provide a greater amount of food in one location so that visitors do not need to flower around for long distances in search of meeting their energy needs.

Os casos de dengue na cidade de Barra do Garças–MT - DOI 10.5216/ag.v4i12.12833

Romário Rosa de Sousa

The aim of this paper was to relate climatology data of average, maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity of the air and precipitation, jointly with the number of clinical cases of classic dengue, transmitted by the Aedes aegypti from 2001 until 2009 years. The methodological procedures was based on three distinct steps being the 1st - step to obtain the meteorological data, 2 nd - step: the search data, provided by the Municipality Health Department - SMS / Center of Zoonosis Control - CCZ of Barra do Garcas - MT and also the collect in the SINAN / DATASUS system. And the 3rd – step corresponds to the analysis and discussion of the theme. It was noted that the cases have occurred more frequently in the rainy season, with particular attention to the months of January, February and March. The years that showed the largest numbers of cases were: 2005 with 1.261 which is occupying the first place, in the second place is the year 2009 with 939; while the third place is the year 2004 with 926 and the fourth place with 881 confirmations were in 2008. The neighborhoods Jardim Pitaluga, Centro da Cidade, Campinas, Vila Maria, Vila Santo Antonio and Sao Jose, stand out with the highest rates of infestations. In conclusion it has relationships between the increase of dengue cases and raining season.

The study aimed to identify what species of fish caught irregularly in Chacorore and Sia Mariana Bays. It created a database in the form of tables in Access software, version II, where then is extracted graphs and tables necessary for the performance of the work. Thus, the data were interplod in ArcGis software version 9.2. Finalizations and final adjustments were made in the software version CorelDraw X3. It is shown that nineteen fish’s species whish belonging to the watersheds of Paraguay, Amazon and Araguaia, have been captured irregularly, featuring environmental crimes, particularly in the basin of the river Paraguay and therefore in the Pantanal weed-Grosso. It noted that the counties with the highest reported cases of seizures of fish were: Baron of Melgaco, Cuiaba, St. Anthony of Leverger and Varzea Grande, all located in the basin of the river Paraguay, with amounts ranging from 2001 to 4.351kg. The results of the analysis and interpretation showed that the fish Pintado Pseudoplatystoma corruscans and Cachara (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum) are the most species caught by fishing predatory. Key words: Fish, predatory fishing, preservation, species.
