Selecting Web Service for Multi-user Based on Multi-QoS Prediction

Zhongjun Liang; Hua Zou; Jing Guo; Fangchun Yang; Rongheng Lin

In this paper, we study a new framework for multi-user Web services selection problem, which aims to select best candidates to meet multi-users requirements. However, the unavoidable challenges in this problem are the efficiency and effect. Most existing methods are proposed for the single request condition without considering the overload of Web services, which cannot be directly used in this problem. Furthermore, existing methods assumed the QoS information for users are all known and accurate, and in real case, there are always many missing QoS values in history records, which increase the difficulty of the selection. In this paper, we propose a new framework for multi-user Web services selection problem. This framework first predicts the missing multi-QoS values according to the historical QoS experience from different users, and then selects the global optimal solution for multi-user by our fast match approach. Comprehensive empirical studies demonstrate the utility of the proposed method.

Integrating RESTful Service into BPEL Business Process on Service Generation System

Budan Wu; Rongheng Lin; Junliang Chen

New value-added business, generated by Web service composition in BPEL, provides more powerful and flexible features. SOAP-based web services invoked in BPEL are heavy with redundant information and lower performance. RESTful Web service is brought forward to new value-added business as an alternative solution. However, its a big challenge to compose RESTful Web services with SOAP-based Web Services in SOA BPEL business processes. BPEL is not designed to use RESTful Web services because these types of services do not use WSDL to describe themselves. This paper proposes a novel approach for integrating RESTful Web services and SOAP-based Web services in business processes described in BPEL. The approach is applied to a practical multimedia conference BPEL process, and the experimental data show the stability of the new RESTful BPEL process with a higher performance.

Minimizing Latency in Fetching Virtual Machine Images Based on Multi-point Collaborative Approach

Binbin Huang; Rongheng Lin; Kai Peng; Hua Zou; Fangchun Yang

Cloud computing centers enable to provision diverse virtual machine (VM) in an elastic and scalable manner. VMs are created by instantiating VM images that encapsulate the required applications or services with their support environment. The multi-gigabyte VM images are hosted in the central image repository, while hosting centers are geographically dispersed. Thus, to fetch a GigaByte sized VM image from a repository over the Internet is time consuming. To address this problem, we first take advantage of high degree of commonality of VM images, and divide the VM images into fine-grain chunks by designing a mixed chunk scheme. And then, based on chunk-level sharing among different images, we propose a novel VM images acquisition scheme based on multi-point collaboration (MPCA), which minimizes latency in fetching VM images. Our experiments show that our proposed scheme can largely reduce request service time. Moreover, it can efficiently decentralize network traffic load, reduce the contention result from additional traffic introduced in the network, especially when traffic load is heavy.

From Requirements to Business Processes Development

Hongxia Zhang; Hua Zou; Fangchun Yang; Rongheng Lin

In order to adapt to the inconstancy of business environments and service requirements, the framework of service-oriented product line development is proposed, which is used to analyze, verify and implement dynamic processes and process changes automatically. In this paper, we present a logical feature model which can model the variability of requirements, and introduce variant points in business process templates defined by petri nets to model dynamic processes. Then, we map compound features in a logical feature model to variant points in a template through propositional logics. At last, the configured process can be verified based on petri net theory.

A Security PaaS Container with a Customized JVM

Rongheng Lin; Budan Wu; Sen Su; Peng Xu; Shasha Yang; Yao Zhao

PaaS is known as an application engine which third party developers can deploy their application onto. Security of PaaS becomes important as applications shares resources. How to secure and isolation the resources become an important topic. In this paper, a security PaaS container is proposed which is based on a customized JVM. This container is fully implemented and evaluated in real setting.

The Collaborative Configuration of Service-Oriented Product Lines Based on Evolutionary Approach

Hongxia Zhang; Rongheng Lin; Hua Zou; Fangchun Yang; Yao Zhao

Service-oriented product lines provide a unified representation of variants of the possible applications of a specific domain. The configuration process is often completed by multi-stakeholders collaboratively. However, current configuration methods do not provide means to coordinate concurrent decision making. In this paper, we present a framework that describes the collaborative configuration process of Service-oriented Product lines based on fuzzy quality requirements. First, the configuration objective is obtained based on an improved fuzzy multi-attribute group decision making method. Then, the corresponding multi-objective evolutionary approaches are presented for product configuration and business process configuration that satisfy both functional and non-functional preferences and constraints, respectively.

Critical Nodes Detecting in Virtual Networking Environment

Rongheng Lin; Budan Wu; Yao Zhao; Hua Zou; Li Liu

As cloud computing goes, How to provide a security cloud becomes an important problem. Virtual networking plays an important role in cloud computing infrastructure. To identify which node is a critical node become an important research question. In this study, our team analyzed the fat tree network and small-world network, and proposed a network modeling method for the virtual networking. On this basis, we analyze time performance and detecting accuracy of the two critical nodes detecting algorithms. One is based on depth-first search, while the other concentricity analysis.

EKMPC: Enhanced KMP Allocation for Virtual Network Service Provision in Cloud

Rongheng Lin; Budan Wu; Yao Zhao; Hua Zou

Resource Virtualization is one of major capabilities in cloud. Computing and Storage virtualization is widely used in cloud. Networking virtualization becomes a trend of cloud computing. In past, user can only request a networking resource offline, virtual network can be allocation as needed. Allocating the network on demand will become a challenge for network. In this work in progress study, we propose an Enhanced KMP (Knuth-Morris-Pratt) algorithm for Virtual Network Allocation in cloud (EKMPC), which use the concept of KMP.

An Auto Window Filter Algorithm for Resource Monitoring in Cloud

Rongheng Lin; Yao Zhao; Budan Wu; Hua Zou

Cloud computing provide computing resource on demand which helps people to make full use of legacy computing asset. Resource provision is transparent to user but not to provider. Computing provider need to aware of resource utilization. How to monitoring resource utilization become an important problem in cloud computing. In this study, we propose a monitoring architecture and a monitoring model. An Auto window filter algorithm is introduced to help reduce the network traffic.

A Social Based Ubiquitous Service Platform

Rongheng Lin; Hua Zou; Fangchun Yang

As it is known, service is the key element of the new generation telecommunication network. Though network technology develops so quickly, the technology that uses in the application remains in a low degree. In other hand, current service model is also a problem that prevent telecom application from developing.Meanwhile, people demand for more personal experiences, such as context aware demand. In this paper, the author will analyze current problems in service platform and then propose a new platform with social factors and ubiquitous feature. And an example application will set up to validate the framework.
