O gigante dormente: O lugar nos trilhos da ferrovia Norte?sul

The Great Engineering Projects are events that change the space, altering their natural and socio-cultural elements. The socio-spatial effects of these developments can be positive and / or negative. The construction of the North – South railway is considered a major project. This suggests a path with railways of approximately 2100 km across the Midwest and north of the country, connecting the north with the Carajas Railroad and south with the Central Atlantic Railroad. With that reduces freight costs for long distances, and can raise the economic development of the Brazilian Cerrado. Despite the developmental objectives of the FNS, this paper seeks to reflect on the impact that the railroad can bring to the rural and urban in the city of Anapolis - GO, taking place as a category of this analysis. There is no way to integrate, include, accommodate a large number of people who ‘has no place’ in society exclusionary. Moreover, the forms of inclusion and reinstatement are increasingly encountered and degrading little to a condition of social welfare. Aiming to spatialize and illustrate this reflection, the geographical treatment that is intended to give the perspective of space - place mentions the construction of a major infrastructure project in the transport logistics Mid- Region the Center of Goias, at the southern entrance of the city of Anapolis, in State of Goias, the North South Railway - FNS and its socio-spatial implications.

ABORDAGENS GEOGRÁFICAS SOBRE AS PRAÇAS DA ÁREA CENTRAL DA CIDADE DE POÇOS DE CALDAS-MG

Este trabalho objetiva discutir sobre a geografia urbana na area central da cidade de Pocos de Caldas - MG. O foco da analise se volta para a categoria “lugar” tendo como objeto de estudo as pracas. A analise qualitativa foi um suporte importante na metodologia, pois se utilizou de pesquisa de campo, para observacao, entrevistas e aquisicao de imagens. Nesse sentido, tambem se reflete, sobre a importância da praca como patrimonio cultural/natural na area central da cidade de Pocos de Caldas, pois estas contribuem para as relacoes sociais na formacao da cidade. As relacoes sociais, tanto de ordem social, como economica, politica e cultural, sao as formas expressas da interacao e construcao dos lugares centrais urbanos. Palavras-chave: Cidade. Geografia.
