Development of pulling sprayer for herbicides

樹園地や農耕地周辺の雑草管理には,刈払い機などの機械的防除や除草剤の普及により,著しく省力化されたが,水田の雑草管理に比べると依然として重労働な作業となっている.すなわち,除草剤開発に伴う簡便な散布機がないことが,労働軽減化を妨げる要因と考えられる.そこで,噴霧機を背負いではなく,手引にしてその車輪の回転をポンプに直結させて噴霧する簡便なG社製Wheel Pump Sprayersをベースに除草剤専用少水量散布機を開発した.本機は,1)動力にエンジンを使わず,2)散布作業者の軽労働化のために,薬液タンクを背負わずに手引にし,その重力と車輪の回転力をポンプの動力として散布する,3)作業速度と吐出量を除草効果に影響ないように連動させ,25l/10a散布を実現し,4)散布作業者は進行方向の先頭(噴霧口の前)に立つため,薬液の飛散による危険性が少ない,5)単位面積あたり作業時間が短い,などの特徴がある.こうしたことから,果樹園・非農耕地・管理が比較的雑な畑作分野での利用が可能であり,散布機の新しいモデルとして普及拡大の可能性があるものと考えられる.
