Recent studies have indicated a role of hypovitaminosis D3 in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and insulin resistance. The aim of the present study was to investigate the prevalence of hypovitaminosis D3 (b20 ng/mL) [1] and its association with selected clinical and biochemical parameters in Indian women with PCOS. Hypovitaminosis D3 may be associated with aspects of metabolic syndrome in PCOS patients [2] but its contribution is not clear. A cross-sectional study of Indian women with PCOS was conducted between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2011. Polycystic ovary syndrome was defined according to the Rotterdam 2003 criteria [3]. Ethics approval was provided by the Ethics Committee of SC Das Memorial Medical and Research Center, Kolkata, India. Verbal informed consent was obtained from all participants. The control group comprised 71women (21–31 years)whohad regular cycles and no signs of hyperandrogenism. The PCOS group included

In conclusion, the characteristics of infertile Maltese women diagnosed with endometriosis are similar to those reported in the literature [1,3,4]. A relationship between the amount of menstrual flow and the classification of endometriosis was observed. In general, treatment strategies involve patients with minimal endometriosis receiving no treatment, or GnRH agonist treatment across the spectrum of endometriosis.
