Abstract A study of the inclusive production of π − , η , ϱ 0 , ω ad f mesons in p p annihilation at 0.7 GeV/ c is presented. Topological and channel cross sections are determined. Longitudinal and transversal momentum distributions of non-strange mesons are studied. It is deduced that nearly 48% of all negative pions arise from the decay of η , ϱ 0 , ω and f mesons.

Abstract We present a study of the incclusive reaction p p → Λ/Σ 0 + anything at 5.7 GeV/c based on 9544 events. The main experimental feature is a flattening of the momentum-transfer distribution with the increasing missing mass. We attempt to interpret the results in the framework of the triple-Regge limit. The effective trajectory is shown to be in good agreement, within theoretical uncertainties, with what is expected from K or K∗ – K∗∗ exchanges.

Abstract A study is made of η0 production in p p → 3π + 3π − π 0 (7500 events) at an incident momentum of 720 MeV/c. The reaction is dominated by production of ω0 (≈68 o/o). The η o production has been studied by means of two independent methods: the first, a study of correlations between the (4π)± and (5π)0 and the (3π)0 systems, circumvents the problem of ω0 reflections. The second attempts to isolate the η0 4π channel by means of rigorous selections using the decay properties of η0 and ω0. The results of the two methods are consistent and confirnm the production of σ+-, D0 and E0 with the decays ifD0 → σ±π± → η0π+π(su−), E0 → σ±π∓ → η(su0)π+π−, E0 → η0π+π−.

Abstract Properties of Σ ± (1385) inclusively produced in 4.2 GeV/ c K − p interactions are studied. Inclusive cross sections are presented together with differential cross sections as functions of x and p t 2 for both Σ + (1385) and Σ − (1385). The complete density matrix for Σ + (1385) production at small momentum transfer is studied as a function of t and of recoil mass MM 2 . Substantial agreement with the predictions of the additive quark model is found. The Σ + (1385) production in the target fragmentation region is studied in the framework of the triple-Regge model.

A study of inclusive Ξ− production from a high statistics K−p experiment at 4.2 GeV/c has been made. The total Ξ− production cross section is 157 ± 8 μb. Approximately 15% of the Ξ− arise from decay of the Ξ∗0(1530) resonance. The polarization of the Ξ− is found to be negative and is nearly equal in value to that of the Λ0 from the inclusive reaction K− + p → Λ0 + anything. An analysis of the inclusive production of Ξ− has been made in the framework of the triple-Reege formalism.
