Signature inversion and change in triaxiality in 159Tm and 159Er.

A conceptually different interpretation of the excitation energies and signature inversion in negative parity bands of odd-[ital Z] and odd-[ital N] nuclei has been given within the framework of triaxial rotor plus one quasiparticle model. Furthermore, in the present work, evidence has been obtained for a triaxial shape transition in these nuclei related to a sudden decrease in the signature splitting.

Magnetic moment of the deuteron and nucleon--nucleon spin-orbit potentials

The change in the magnetic moment of the deutcron arising from the presence of the spin-orbit potential in the nucleon-nucleon interaction has been estimated for the Yala, Hamada-Johnston, and Reid potentials. The present estimates are more close to experimect than those obtained previously from some old fashioned potentials. (auth)
