The solar radio bursts are the results of solar flares take place on the surface of the Sun. Some of them could reach the surface of the Earth and can be detected by the ground base antenna. The CALLISTO system is used to interpret the radio bursts that have been detected by the antenna before the results appeared on the computers screen. The CALLISTO system consists of software and hardware with the aim to observe the solar radio emission for astronomical science. There are five types of solar radio bursts that have been classified based on their characteristics since 1960s. However, all these types of solar radio bursts have their own related events due to different process before their formations. Based on the result, it shows that all related events of the bursts such as Coronal Mass Ejections, prominences and flares occurred several minutes or hours before the bursts appeared on the computers screen.

The Callisto network systems are widely used for continuous data collection of solar activities every day through the internet connection and stored in the central database in the computer. The system installation began in 2002 in Zurich, and its network has spread all around the globe ever since, benefiting researchers and individuals worldwide. This research paper presents one of selected event using a radio spectrometer the Callisto system from Ireland, which demonstrates a solar radio burst event detected during the 13:23 (UT) to 13:26 (UT) on 30th March 2013 in Ireland. Besides, data from Glasgow and Humain were compared to be analyzed. Those installed Callisto in each country is called as extendable the Callisto system (e-Callisto). The analysis being carried out based on spectrogram data of the CALLISTO system obtained from these three countries. Results showed that all three sites observed the same Solar Radio Burst Type II at the same time but different in locations. The e- CALLISTO system has proven to be a new tool for monitoring solar activity and for space weather research.

Monitoring the Level of Light Pollution and Its Impact on Astronomical Bodies Naked-Eye Visibility Range in Selected Areas in Malaysia Using the Sky Quality Meter

Light pollution is an anthropogenic by-product of modern civilization and heavy economical activity, sourced from artificial light. In addition of its detrimental impact on human, and ecology, light pollution brightens the night sky, limiting the range of visible astronomical bodies detected by naked-eye. Since it is becoming a global concern for astronomers, the level of light pollution needs to be monitored to study its mark on the astronomical data. Using Sky Quality Meter in the period of 5 months, we investigated the links between city population and its vicinity from the city center towards the profile of the night sky and the limiting magnitude of the naked eye. We eliminate the data factored by clouds and moon brightness on account of it has an adverse effect on sky brightness that could disrupt research on light pollution. From the result, we can see population and location distance from the city as major variables of light pollution, as Kuala Lumpur, a city center sky is 5 times brighter than Teluk Kemang, a suburban sky. Some recommendations in reducing the effect of light pollution will be also discussed.
