CrxHg1 − x crystals grown by solid-state recrystallization have been characterized by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, transport measurements, and X-ray microanalysis. The results demonstrate that the crystals contain rectangular HgCr2Se4 inclusions elongated along one of their axes and irregularly shaped CrxHg1 − x and CrHg inclusions. In the range 77–400 K, the electrical properties of samples cut from different parts of the crystals are typical of semiconductors with a strongly degenerate electron gas.

This paper presents the results of investigations of the ESR spectra and volt-ampere characteristics of heterojunctions CdHgCrSe/MnHgTe with the aim to explore the possibilities of their applications in the electron spin devices. Based on the experimental results it may be concluded that the novel heterojunction CdHgCrSe/MnHgTe could not be used as a spin filter. It is also noted that despite the almost linear behaviour of the volt-ampere characteristics of this heterojunction there are the encouraging prerequisites for EM radiation from the this kind of heterojunction.

The physical parameters of a new five-component HgCdMnZnTe semiconductor alloy are studied. It is shown that this material is quite competitive with HgCdTe, i.e., the basic material for photoelectronics in infrared ranges of 3–5 and 8–14 μm.

A complex of Cr (V) with 2–hydroxy–2–ethylbutyric acid (EHBA) has been studied experimentally by the method of electron spin resonance (ESR). The tensor components of the g–factor, the dependences of the ESR line widths on the concentration of paramagnetic centers, and the SHF power of saturation are determined. It is shown that the main mechanism of dynamic polarization of nuclei in the EHBACrV complex in a propanediol solution is the mechanism of dynamic cooling with a burnt hole. It has been established that the ESR spectra of the EHBACrV solutions in deuterated and ordinary propanediol display practically the same behavior, which is indicative of the good solubility of the complex in deuterated alcohols.
