逆浸透 (RO) 分離機構を分子運動論的観点から検討するため, 酢酸セルロース (CA) E398-3をキャストし, 熱処理温度を298Kから363Kまで変えて製膜した. 得られた膜についでRO分離実験と複素動的粘弾性の測定を行い, 次の結論を得た. (1) ろ過係数と現象論的係数はTt=335K近傍を境に急激に変化し, Tt 335Kでは急激に増加あるいは減少する. (2) 乾燥処理した膜の融点, 主分散, 副分散そして3番目の分散は, それぞれTm=515±5K, Tα=461±5K, Tβ=380±5K, そしてTγ=235±5Kである. (3) 水相においてはTd=335±5Kで分散が観測され, これは乾燥処理した膜のTβに相当し, 副分散と見なすことができる. (4) Tt>Tdの場合, 膜はTtの大きさに応じて非晶質部内の高分子の側鎖分子が配向し始め準安定化する. その結果膜はタイトになり, 液質排除は高くなり, 体積流束は小さくなるが, Tt≦Tdのときには膜中の分子には配向が起きないからRO分離特性は変化しない.
