Throughout Japan the road surface condition of expressways is monitored on regular basis. IRI is used as a measure of road roughness and visual inspection by expressway patrol teams is used to check for emergency road damages. Inspection using IRI is carried out every two years. When emergency road damages, such as potholes, are detected by expressway patrol teams, emergency repairs are executed as soon as possible. In addition to IRI and visual surface inspection, some customers lodge complaints about the trafficability of the expressways. In this study, damage probability of road pavement was evaluated using inspection result data between each interchange along an expressway. The relationship between damage probability and customer feedback for trafficability was also considered. The segments for shield tunnel made of self-compacting concrete (SCC), which product system is established under conditions of once a day, are already supplied to shield tunnels. On the other hand, it is popular that segment is made of stiff consistency concrete (2cm of slump) using form twice a day. Properties of SCC omit to vibrate for concrete placing and finish work for surface of segment. So that, manufacturing process and cost are reduced, it is necessary to improve curing condition in order to increase production efficiency. This paper shows a possibility to realize that segment is made of SCC under conditions of use form twice a day.

Presented is an analytical method to predict the behavior of the lining of the existing tunnel when a new tunnel is constructed parallel and close to it. In the analysis, driving forces in the longitudinal and the lateral direction and the change of the earth pressure due to the construction of the new tunnel are evaluated separately. The behavior of the lining of the existing tunnel is computed and compared with the result of the measurement. The analysis shows good agreement with the measurement, hence the proposed method is effective for the design of the construction of closed parallel shield tunnels. K eywords: parallel shield tunnels, closed construction, pseudo-three dimensional analysis of segment rings
