Abstract An analytic theory for the electromagnetic diffraction from a perfect electromagnetic conductor (PEMC) step is developed. By using the duality transformations introduced by Lindell and Sihvola, the diffracted field from a PEMC step has been evaluated. Transformations have been applied to a known problem, the diffracted field by a plane wave from a perfect electric conductor (PEC) step.

Using the duality transformations introduced by Lindell and Sihvola, an analytic theory for the electromagnetic diffraction from a perfect electromagnetic conductor (PEMC) slot is developed. Transformations have been applied to the diffracted field of a plane wave from a perfect electric conductor (PEC) slot. The problem was solved by using the Sommerfeld Green’s function and Fresnel integral.

In this paper, an analytic theory for the magnetic line source diffraction by a perfect electromagnetic conductor (PEMC) step is developed. Using the duality transformation, introduced by Lindell and Sihvola, transformations have been made from the diffraction of a magnetic line source by a perfect electric conductor (PEC) step. As an application, plane wave diffracted from a planar interface of air and PEMC media is studied. PEC and PMC are the limiting cases, while there is no cross-polarized component.

ABSTRACT In this article, we develop an analytic theory for a perfect electromagnetic conductor (PEMC) plate embedded in lossy medium. The duality transformation introduced by Lindell and Sihvola is applied to study the electromagnetic wave scattering by a PEMC plate. Perfect electric conductor and perfect magnetic conductor are the limiting cases of PEMC media. Here, we study monoscattering by PEMC plate embedded in four different soil models. Numerical results are discussed and compared with the available literature.

ABSTRACT Using the duality transformation introduced by Lindell and Sihvola, transformations have been applied to transform the diffracted fields from a perfectly electric conducting (PEC) half plane to perfect electromagnetic conductor (PEMC) half plane. PEMC materials behave like PEC when M = ±∞ and behave like perfect magnetic conductor (PMC) when M = 0. In this way, PEC and PMC are the limiting cases of PEMC. The numerical results obtained from the analytical solution have been discussed and compared with the available research literature.

Our recent research has revealed several errors in [1, Eq. (20)]. These were identified through comparisons with [2, Eq. (26)]. A negative sign is missing in the expression in the second term. Furthermore, the missing factors and are to be placed in the denominator of the second and the third terms, respectively. Also, there is another error in the denominator of the second term, that is which is to be correctly written as . The modifications and suggestions presented in the comment make the obtained results in [1] more meaningful and valid.
