Likert scale is applied as one of the most fundamental and frequently used psychometric tools in educational and social sciences research. Simultaneously, it is also subjected to a lot of debates and controversies in regards with the analysis and inclusion of points on the scale. With this context, through reviewing the available literature and then clubbing the received information with coherent scientific thinking, this paper attempts to gradually build a construct around Likert scale. This analytical review begins with the necessity of psychometric tools like Likert scale andits variants and focuses on some convoluted issues like validity, reliability and analysis of the scale.

Introduction: The long established classroom teaching learning practices in Community Medicine may not provide context to students being dissociated from Community. This study explores whether incorporation of narratives to understand dimension and determinants of heath add to the perspective. Type of study: Educational trial with qualitative exploration of students’ perception. Setting: Tertiary teaching hospital of central India. Result: This study detected a significant difference in the scores among narrative exposed and lecture exposed group utilizing descriptive question as an evaluation tool while difference in scores was not significant on using MCQs as evaluation modality. Although Students perceived narratives as a tool for active learning that helps them to assimilate the context of learning, they were uncertain about the extent to transform it into performance in examination. Conclusion: Integration of patients’ narratives with traditional teaching modalities may construct the knowledge by promoting dynamic wisdom acquired through exposure to illness journey in community. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the major fast growing non-communicable disease (NCD) and causes threats to global public health. Progression of diabetes in most cases results in chronic complications, which lowers patients’ quality of life and increases their morbidity and mortality; it also leads to a great economic burden on our health systems. It has been proved that self-care is the cornerstone of diabetes management, since this has been proven in various studies and populations. Prior to initiating an educational program or interventions for diabetic patients, their current level of knowledge (K), attitude (A), and practice (P) should be evaluated. As per International federation (IDF) atlas seventh edition 2015, there are 415 million people worldwide and 69.2 million in India people with type 2 diabetes and, and these numbers are projected to increase to 642 million and 123.5 101 million by the year 2040.

Aim: Accurate estimation of the prosthetic valve size pre - operatively can aid to the efficiency and effectiveness to mitral valve surgery. Traditionally Two dimensional Echocardiography is being used for this purpose but cannot be claimed as optimum tool. This study computes and analyses several linear regression equations in order to obtain a best fit model for predicting mitral Original Research Article

Background: This paper investigates a swift gastrointestinal outbreak in central India and further explores environmental, agent, and host interactions culminating into outbreak. Materials and Methods: Epidemic investigation was launched as per the standard protocol laid by Center for Disease Control to capture the clinico-microbiological pattern of disease. Descriptive and observational epidemiological analysis was performed. Results: This cholera like watery diarrheal episode presented along with vomiting and abdominal cramps had an attack rate of 45.11%. The mean duration of illness was 61 h with a predilection to pediatric age group. Clinico-microbiological picture probed the enterotoxicogenic Escherichia coli contaminated well-water as a source for the outbreak initiated by geo-environmental stimulation. Conclusion: The findings endorse the need of serviceable environmental sanitation strategies in order to prevent the disease transmission through water.
