Hubungan antara Ketegasan Diri dan Kepuasan Hidup dalam Kalangan Pelajar Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (The Relationship between Assertiveness and Satisfaction with Life Among Students at a Higher Learning Institution)

The aim of this study is to identify teachers’ teaching approach, students’ learning style, and types of evaluation of Form 4 sport science subject in secondary schools. The study also meant to identify the relationship between students’ learning style with their achievement in sport science subject. Samples consist of 208 teachers who thought in sport science subject and 2729 of students who participate in the sport science subject at selected secondary schools. Instruments used in the study consist of questionnaires for teachers and students with reliability of α = .962 and α = .799 respectively. The results showed that teachers’ teaching approach based on teaching management strategy was at medium level while its teaching techniques and teachers’ content knowledge on sport science were at high level. This study also found that students acquired a high interest towards sport science subject but at of a medium level on perceptual learning style which involve visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic. The evaluation styles chosen for measuring students’ learning achievement was written test, practical test, oral test, semester examination, project, and performance evaluation. Students’ learning achievement of Form 4 sport science subject was 9.2% scored grade A, 21% grade B, 38% grade C, and 18.5% grade D. Learning factor has a low significant relationship (r = .17**, p < .00) with students’ achievement in form 4 sport science subject. In conclusion, teachers’ teaching approach should anticipate with students’ learning styles and include varieties of evaluation process to evaluate students’ learning achievement in sport science subject

Reliability of self-employment intentions instrument among international students in Indonesian university

This paper examines the validation instrument used to measure the psychometric status of the self-employment intentions. Self-employment intentions are crucial to identify the university students in order to confirm their decision making. They are a questionnaire to measure graduation in university to start choice on their careers. This instrument is composed of 11 items and was carried out to 115 international students studying in one Indonesian higher education. There were 49 male and 66 female respondents involved in this study. The Cronbachs Alpha value was .94 which strongly suggest that the instrument has an excellent reliability. This study points out that self-employment intentions are suitable to be used by college personnel and counselors to examine and identify self-employment inten-tions among international students in Indonesian higher education. Implications for future study will also be discussed.

Kesan Intervensi Kaunseling Kelompok Tingkah Laku Kognitif ( CBT ) terhadap Mangsa Buli = The Impact of Group Counseling Intervention Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) towards Bully Victims

Awareness of the victims to understand the purpose of bullying, why they are being bullied and the importance of increasing selfefficacy was found to help the victims to cope with the phenomenon of bullying. An experimental study applying the counseling group cognitive behavioral therapy to eight students who have been victims of bullying which have carried out have shown positive effects. Qualitative data from the interviews, pre and post, using semi-structured questionnaires, have shown an increase in the level of knowledge about bullying and why they are being bullied. Too measure self-efficacy, The Peer Aggression Coping Self-Efficacy Scale (PACSES) have been translated and used in the pre and postinterviews. The study found an increase in the self-efficacy score among respondents who had attended cognitive behavioral group counseling. This study has demonstrated the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, which focuses on the field of knowledge about bullying, understand the reason oneself being bullied and the important of self-efficacy of bully victim. This is important for school counselors to help victims of bullying, and empower themselves (victims of bullying) when facing bullying situations.
