The UKCC higher level of practice pilot

The UKCC conducted a year long pilot project to identify how those working at a higher level of practice should be assessed and regulated. Of the 350 candidates who began the pilot, less than 200 survived the assessment process through to the end. This article will outline the background of the project, describe the experience of participating, and discuss some of the implications for midwifery practice.
