Time-domain simulation of discrete sliding control of permanent magnet synchronous motors

An advanced application of the discret variable structure control theory to permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), using a discrete-time varying sliding surface, is proposed. This study deals, in a rigourous analysis and by the use of a modular simulation program simulation, with speed and torque sliding control. Modelling and simulation of the PMSM supplied by a PWM inverter is presented. The continuous time approach is then surveyed. Finally, a discrete time approach is investigated to both two and three sliding surface methods. Simulation results validate the different cases discussed.

Simulation tool for the study of PMSM control techniques

This paper presents a modular simulation tool which allows study of different control techniques of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). First, the authors detail the simulation methodology which is based on use of the code generator GASPE. The new software package needs to have a modular structure. It offers the possibility to investigate any kind of speed and torque control of PMSM. Two control laws are investigated, vector control and sliding mode control. Finally, some simulation results are presented.<<ETX>>
