Chang-Hwa Park; Sang-Keun Oh; Nam-Gi Lim

Installation of a proper root barrier in a green roof system is very important in order to protect the concrete slab of roof and the root penetration in the waterproofing layer. To select the proper root barrier materials and methods, it is necessary to understand the environmental conditions affecting the waterproofing-root barrier system in green roof construction site. Therefore, we suggested as the environmental performance indexes four kinds of performance requirements; root penetration, chemical attack by chemical agent or fertilizer, load impact by soil depth and size of plant, and water pressure. The related four test methods were suggested for the inspection of these performance indexes. In this research, we could suggest for kinds of test methods as standard test methods to evaluate the environmental performance of waterproofing-root barrier for greening roof system.

Shi-Won Kwon; Il-Gyu Jo; Kee-Sun Bae; Sang-Keun Oh

The need for this study must be considerable. as being activate of green roofs research that the organization and construction obtain access to more development technologies. Nevertheless, the green roofs system has begun to apply since 1980`s, the green roofs technology was restricted to develop without verification of technologies such as a load or water leakage. There is a limit as urethane waterproofing to almost domestic waterproofing materials and methods of construction for general green roofs. The introduction of materials and methods of construction which are appropriated to property of green roofs could be a decisive factor in a long-range durability and economical maintenance cost, moreover, it support to variety construction system and organization. This present paper describes a necessity of waterproofing and root barrier system is one of the sub-organization based on green roofs construction. which have enormously large impact on the durability.

Sang-Keun Oh; Kyu-Sung Kwak; Sung-Min Choi; Shi-Won Kwon

Water leakage could be caused deterioration of environmental conditions, user condition, reduction of life span and long term safety in underground concrete structure. Many materials and construction method to repair on these problems have been developed, however, it is not proper to successful repair or raise problem of increasing repair cost However, there are many limitations as practical appraisal methods due to different view of reliability for test methods. Because, it was not enough that the technical objectivity could be lack and also application of environmental condition is inadequate. In this paper, we suggest varied test methods divided to appraisal for property of matter, construction, manufacturing, specification and maintenance, friendly environmental condition. It could be more practical as a objective standard considering various angles. In summery, it should be subdivided and differentiated to accomplish proper application and to select proper materials and construction method for repair even if the synthetical condition is very complicated.

Sang-Keun Oh; Kyu-Sung Kwak; Yoon-Suk Sun; Shi-Won Kwon

Selection of proper root barrier as destination part of greening is very important in Root penetration resistance plan. To select proper root barrier, it need to understand composition of greening part, size, kind of plant, connection with waterproofing layer. In this point of view, we have establish greening on the roof or concrete structure, not been understand the structural mechanism. It means that we misunderstood about purpose of greening and using it. So, chosen materials and construction method was not proper for greening, it caused water leakage and decrease performance of concrete structure. Therefore, we would suggest 5 items of test methods considering environmental condition for green roof. Watertightness by water of greening part, root penetration resistance test by root penetration, bacteria resistance by must or bacteria in soil, chemical resistance by rain and chemical agent of fertilizer, and load resistance by soil depth, size of plant. These suggested test methods could be referred as guideline to test in green roof system because of not exist any performance appraisal guideline or standard. Consequently, it should be analysis as technical and institutional subdividing test methods and it need to study constantly as varied angles.

Analysis of the Cause of Waterleakage in Residential Apartment Underground Parking Ground and the Review of the Repare Methods

Sang-Keun Oh; Sung-Min Choi; Je-Young ≪젣 Song

*(Received September 19, 2014 / Revised September 22, 2014 / Accepted September 22, 2014)This study analyzes the cause and the repairing method of water leak by parts of basement parking lot which is recorded to have a highdefect frequency in apartment buildings. It has been assessed that the cause of water leakage on the first floor upper substrate is due to such factors as landscaping and weights. During construction or through other cases, it has been determined that cracks were produced in the apartment structur e because the structure was weak and exposed to the effects of the substrate movement. The base floor and underground external walls are areas that are exposed to water pressure (uplife pressure), thus in normal cases the rear surface repair of the structure using sythetic rubberized polymer gel should be considered as an effective method. However, in cases where application of waterproofing layer is required in the structure due to high water pressure, using asystolic cement milk grout to form the waterproofing layer and applying water-swelling acrylic material into the cracked areas is considered to be highly effective.키워드 : 누수, 지하구조물, 누수보수, 주입공법, 방수, 양압력Keywords : A water leak, Underground Structure, Water leak repair, Injection Method, Waterproofing, Uplife Pressure* Corresponding author E-mail: [email protected]

Sang-Keun Oh; Ki-Youl Baek; Sun-Gyu Lee

This study is an evaluation of the water-tightness properties of rain-block systems in the sliding-roof joint of large-span membrane structures. In this study, we suggested a method of evaluating the water-tightness performance of the joint part of a sliding door in the roof of a large-span membrane structure (for a pilot project), in an environment of rain and wind. The shape of the rainwater blocking systems of the joint part in a sliding door verifies the defects and the effects of water leakage prevention when there is precipitation with wind conditions. To secure the water-tightness of large span membrane structures, it is necessary to have a guideline on the evaluation of the design for rain-block system of the joint part, and the quality of the membrane material, both of a retractable roof and a closed roof.

There is a problem to be solved for improvement of durability and safety supervision. When you do the waterproofing work of main concrete from the design stage, the material and method of construction need to be correctly applied to appropriate circumstance conditions. Epoxy have mostly been used for concrete water tank structure. Lately, lots of subjects on adaption of polyurea resin waterproofing and anticorrosive are under discussion. Then, we attempt to approach by evaluating and comparing every capabilities with another waterproofs in this study. Performance evaluation items include the adherence performance, the imprint of seal performance, temperature dependence performance, promotion weatherizing ability, Inner chemical performance. drinking water eruptive performance. Through the experiment analysis, we found that the polyurea resin waterproofing membrane is dominantly superior to other waterproofs. According to this study, we suggest the polyurea resin waterproofing membrane as a new waterproofing material for concrete structure.

Leakage Situation and Main Leakage Areas of Domestic Residential Building Underground Parking Lots
